Steve’s results: from anxiety to Inner Joy: Embracing confidence through hypnotherapy

Updated: Sep 16, 2024

Steve case study

Steve, a cherished long-time friend, reached out for help after struggling with the constant pressure of putting others first. When hosting events, despite doing everything in his power to prevent things from going wrong, Steve found himself worrying incessantly about potential mishaps and outcomes-leaving him feeling constantly uptight in his shoulders and anxious about communicating his ideas, convinced that others would not take them on board.

After completing Accelerate your potential through hypnosis program, Steve shifted the heavy worry from his shoulders that had been plaguing him for so long allowing him to feel more at ease and relaxed within himself. In addition, Steve has gained a newfound sense of confidence in sharing his ideas and expressing himself without the burden of anxiety holding him back allowing him to live a more fulfilling and joyful life.

“I used to suffer a lot from tenson and anxiety about meeting people. Since working with Ellen, after one treatment, I feel so much more confident and so much more relaxed, I don’t carry as much tension in my shoulders as I did before. I am more happy to organise events now and have fun and actually enjoy the evenings.”

Before seeing Ellen for help, I was quite anxious and extremely uptight about anything that I tried to organize. I would carry my worry around in my shoulders. I thought that I could cure myself by forcing myself into situations where I was meeting people. I would invite friends, relatives and work colleagues round to my house for an evening and see if I could get over the anxiety issues that I had. It made it worse. I would overthink things because I would make sure that everything went well. My worst fear was that people would not enjoy themselves and would not like me anymore and would not likely come again.

Growing up, I was a nervous person, a trait I have picked up from my family, is to worry about others first and generally myself second. I suppose it is something I have been taught, if I am dishing up a meal for example, and there is a potato with a lump of badness in it, I will give that potato to me, and I will give the good potatoes to everybody else.

Why did you choose Inner Glow Coaching with Ellen for help with your anxiety?

I sought help from Ellen due to having a massive amount of trust in her ability to help as well as her willingness to help me push through my challenges. I was getting fed up with being a nervous wreck before events and during events as well. I would be rushing around in the evening, and it's only when either the food had gone or it was getting towards the end of the evening that I could start to relax a little, I notice myself saying, “Hey, hang on a minute I want to enjoy these events myself.”

Growing up I was always a worrier; to a point that my shoulders were always up. I didn't realise how tense my shoulders were until I went for a couple of massages, to hear the massage therapist say,

your shoulders are at the tensest I've ever seen, you're lucky not to be getting massive migraines, because the blood's just not getting through, you are going to need regular massages to do your shoulders. It is going to take six months to cure you from this.”

At that time, I was thinking, I don't really want that! Six months is a lot of money, no that’s the symptom not the cause they are treating.

During my time with Ellen, I found her to be very well organised and the session very relaxing. We chatted about what the process was going to be, which help put my mind at ease because I was unsure what was going to happen. Throughout my experience, Ellen was reassuring throughout and helped me discover the cause of the anxiety and gave me a personalised 21-day audio recording to help reinforce those new beliefs, which I found to be immensely helpful and non-invasive.

How has your life has changed since having Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT)?

After just one session and listening to the audio recording over the next 21 nights, the difference is amazing. My mum was the first person to notice how relaxed I had become. I have regular phone calls to listen to her concerns, offer support and to keep her happy. During our calls she noticed and commented on how more relaxed I was sounding on the phone, and commented on how cheerful and calmer I was when I spoke. At times, the conversation can be challenging, so the fact that I was still relaxed and happy sounding on the phone helped her too, which showed that the hypnotherapy was working because I am no longer that “uptight little thing anymore.”

Since having hypnotherapy and listening to the 21day audio recording, my mindset has changed to “let's put it out there, you know what's the worst that can happen.” For a while, I have wanted a Serenity/ Firefly themed bathroom. I love the programme, and my little office pays an homage to it, but that was my office, my little space, but wanted to spread it out into the outside world and let everybody who visits to come and see it. However, I did not really, have the confidence or the belief that my idea would work or be accepted.

As a result of these new beliefs being embedded, I now have the confidence to communicate and get my ideas out. I now have a lovely new bathroom which has worked out really well. I have also built a Dalek out of my water butt in the garden, which at one time I feel I would not have been able to have brought this idea forward without having the extra confidence built in me, so thanks for that.

My shoulders, I am aware that they are much more relaxed especially when I am at a computer. I am certainly not aware of any real stiffness in my shoulders anymore, which is a big plus for me. It has also helped save me money on having to get a massage done every couple of weeks, so thanks for that as well.

Since having hypnotherapy, I feel that my anxiety has hugely dissipated. I feel much better about hosting people at my house and no longer feel the need to plan every second of the evening. They are no longer something to “get through” I can enjoy them as much as my guests.

Words of advice or encouragement would you like to say to those considering RTT?

When considering RTT, I would say “go for it!” It is very quick, unobtrusive, and helpful form of therapy. It is worth going through because of the benefits afterwards you will be thinking “wow! Why didn't I do this a long time ago? “Some consultancies offer monthly or weekly sessions that could just drag on over prolonged periods of time if you are not careful and you do not feel like you are getting anywhere.

From having the one RTT session it felt like a one-off hit. For me it was literally boom. Then you listen to the 21-day audio recording to reinforce those new beliefs. It felt easy that I found myself thinking “why did I not think of doing this before?”

What hit me the most was, I am 55 years old, and it is only now I have started to sort my life out. I could have done with this type of therapy when I was in my twenties. I wish I found Ellen earlier so I could have had much more fun.

My biggest word of encouragement is “go for it, don't waste any more of your life, just go for it, it can do you no harm.”
